Therapy Dog Training I

This course is designed for people and their pets that would like to become involved in pet assisted therapy. You will learn basic dog obedience commands such as sit, sit-stay, down, down-stay, stand, heel, come when called. Only positive reinforcement will be used throughout these sessions. Behavior issues such as jumping up, leash pulling, chewing and barking will be discussed as well. Exposure to health care equipment will be taught. Dogs from the ages of six months old and older are welcome. This course is in preparation for the Therapy Dog Training II class.

2 Different starting times available.        6:00-7:00pm  or
                                                            7:10pm-8:10pm
 

$5.00 materials fee to be paid to instructor first night of class. Proof of Rabies vaccination is required. Please leave your dog at home for the first class (for owners only).
