GED Preparation Program

Do you need your high school diploma? Do you need it to get a job or to advance to a better paying position? Do you want to take college courses? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, the GED may be the right program for you! GED programs are designed for students who have not completed their formal high school education.  Students prepare to take the GED exam to earn a State of Connecticut High School Diploma.

Please note: As of January 2014, there is a new computer-based test and you will not be able to combine your old scores with this new test. For more information, go to www.gedtestingservice.com.

We are a Pearson Vue-Authorized GED Testing Center

Eligibility:

GED Classes:
Individuals must be 17 years of age or older and no longer enrolled in school 
Individuals who are 17 years of age must submit a withdrawal form with a
   parent or guardian's signature. 

GED Exam:

Applicants must be 17 years of age or older to take the GED exam
 Applicants who are 17 years of age must submit a withdrawal form with
   a parent or guardian's  signature.
Applicants 17 and 18 years of age must submit documentation that they
   have been withdrawn from school for at least six months or that the class
   with which they entered 9th grade has already graduated.

Test Fees:

For applicants over the age of 21: $13.00 fee
No fee for veterans and applicants under the age of 21

GED Test Accommodations:

Accommodations on the GED test are available for qualified individuals with a disability.  For more information, contact Sabrina Mancini, Connecticut State Department of Education, Bureau of Health / Nutrition, Family Services and Adult Education at 860.807.2111.  Students who would like a copy of their transcript must submit a transcript request form to:
